The Cloud Engineer (CE) is responsible for bringing and spreading the knowledge, ideas, and hands-on implementation skills needed to deliver and run software services. The CE delivers complex enterprise systems using open source and lightweight design, helping customers to adopt DevOps and Cloud methodologies, while remaining customer-focused and incorporating agile strategies.

This position will report to the CTO for technical matters, proposals, etc. and to the Project Manager assigned to the project the EE is assigned to.


Technical Knowledge and Experience

Specific experience of 2 — 4 years in at least one item of each of the following areas:

  • Linux system administration.
  • Experience with 2 or more programming languages.
  • Experience with AWS, GCP and/or Azure.
  • Automation tools: Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation.
  • Containers and Container orchestration (Kubernetes).


  • Ability to work with rudimentary requirements and specifications.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Advanced ability to read and write English.
  • Moderate ability to speak English.


  • Work with verbal and written English instructions of varying levels of detail.
  • Ability to take directions from Team Lead and Architect.
  • Self-directed learner with the ability to address doubts and concerns with the right person when it exceeds his/her capabilities.


Cloud Engineers are responsible for ensuring that the team and client have a clear understanding of the operational requirements, and take a shared responsibility for designing and implementing infrastructure for delivering and running software services. This includes hands-on involvement with building deployment and testing pipelines, automated provisioning of cloud infrastructure, and infrastructure support services such as monitoring. Watching out for performance bottlenecks and scaling pitfalls are all within the realm of an Infrastructure Developer.

  • Participate in infrastructure code development and testing (manual and automated) (60%).
  • Provide L1 and L2 support related to Cloud Infrastructure, pipelines and developer assistance (20%)
  • Participate in architecture discussions and design (10% of time)
  • Provide technical leadership by actively mentoring Junior and Semi-Sr. engineers (10% of time)


Experience2 — 4 years
Technical knowledgeTechnically self-sufficient. The CE can develop more complex functionalities and execute larger projects. Is acceptable if once in a while «avoidable» mistakes, however, he/she should learn from it and not going over the same ones once happened.
Functional knowledge-Manages “the circuits” well enough to perform autonomously.

-Respects the standards and methodologies. Knows an adequate amount of information regarding the business processes.

Proactivity-At this level, candidates are expected to make the most of their time and organize their work in accordance with their role and workload expectations.

-Awareness of bandwidth — knows when to ask for additional assignments when their workload allows for greater responsibilities.

-Able to be self-sufficient and carry out a majority  of their projects/tasks on their own with little guidance needed.

— It’s acceptable if at any point the EE falls into the scenario of «Listening» to others opinions, without deeply understanding them and keeps trying to impose their own ideas (good and bad).
